Our headquarters in the heart of Berlin handles everything, so you don’t have to. All the vehicles we register have prestigious "B" plates, because we are based in Berlin (e.g. B AB 1234). In Germany, Berlin (B) plates are typically considered the most desireable, followed Munich (M) & Stuttgart (S). Smaller cities have two or three letters e.g. CUX for Cuxhaven

Car Ownership vs. Registered Holder in Germany

In Germany, car ownership and vehicle registration are legally separate roles

The Halter is the registered keeper — their name appears on the vehicle registration document and they are responsible for insurance, taxes, inspections, and any traffic fines. A Halter must have a valid German address.

The Eigentümer is the true legal owner of the car — this can be an individual or a company. However, their name does not appear on the registration document, and German law recognizes ownership through sales contracts, invoices, or other proof of purchase.

This separation allows services like MyGermanCar to register a car (as Halter) on behalf of non-resident owners, while the customer retains full legal ownership.
